NTSB AT SCENE OF SOUTHWEST AIRLINES CHICAGO (MIDWAY)
ACCIDENT, MEDIA BRIEFING LATER THIS MORNING


The National Transportation Safety Board has a team of investigators at the scene of yesterday's accident at Chicago's Midway airport involving a Southwest Airlines B-737 (N471WN).

There will be a media briefing today at 10:30 a.m., Chicago time, at the terminal at Midway airport.

Robert Benzon is the Investigator-In-Charge, heading a team now numbering 14. NTSB Member Ellen Engleman Conners is with the team and will serve as principal spokesperson for the on-scene investigation.

The airliner's flight recorders have been retrieved and will arrive at NTSB headquarters later this morning.
