Synopsis: ABOUT 8:35 P.M. ON 12/3/94, AN ENGINERMAN FIRE OCCURRED ABOARD THE U.S. SMALL PASSENGER VESSEL ARGO COMMODORE WHILE ON A DINNER CRUISE IN SAN FRANCISCO BAY. ALL PASSENGER WERE SAFELY EVACUATED BY A USCG VESSEL & A PASSING YACHT; THERE WERE NO DEATHS OR INJURIES AMONG THE 41 PASSENGERS & 4 CREW MEMBERS.
Recommendation: THE NTSB RECOMMENDS THAT THE COMMODORE DINING CRUISES, INC.: DEVELOP COMPANY OPERATING PROCEDURES & SAFETY CHECKLISTS THAT ARE COMPLETE & ACCURATE, & ENSURE THAT MASTERS & CREWS ARE FAMILIAR WITH THEIR CONTENTS.
