 NTSB Training Center Offers Classes for June through September

​The National Transportation Safety Board is offering several courses from June to September at its Training Center in Ashburn, Va.

Survival Factors in Aviation Accidents (AS302)
June 2-5

This intensive, hands-on, three-day course will cover a wide range of aircraft occupant survivability issues, including case studies highlighting key components of accident survivability, cabin safety and emergency equipment. The material will be presented in seminar and workshop format by staff from NTSB, NASA-Langley Research Center, and the FAA Civil Aerospace Medical Institute.

NTSB Helicopter Accident Investigation (AS103)
June 15-19

This one week course provides participants with a comprehensive overview of the procedures and methods used and the skills required with all aspects of helicopter accident investigation. Examples from recent investigations will be used to demonstrate particular aspects of the investigative process.

NTSB Investigations: What Legal Professionals Need to Know (GC101)
July 16-17

This two day course will cover topics including the role of the NTSB Board and staff in conducting investigations and the impact of the “Government in Sunshine Act” in NTSB investigations. Participants will get an overview of NTSB’s authority to investigate transportation accidents and incidents and conduct safety studies and special investigations; and rules and best practices regarding parallel investigations, investigative hearings and investigative party participation.

Because of the subject matter, registration for this class is limited to attorneys and other individuals that occupy a professional legal position only.
