 NTSB Launches Team to Pipeline Accident in Virginia

The National Transportation Safety Board today launched an investigation team to a pipeline accident in Centreville, VA. On Monday, September 21, 2015, a pipeline released a reported 2000 gallons of gasoline. Some of the liquid had accumulated in a stormwater retention pond near the pipeline right-of-way. 

Mr. Ravi Chhatre is serving as the Investigator-in-Charge. He is accompanied by investigators with expertise in pipeline operations, hazardous materials, and pipeline metallurgy.
