 NTSB Opens Biloxi Grade Crossing Crash Docket

The National Transportation Safety Board opened the public docket Tuesday for its investigation of a fatal, Mississippi, grade-crossing collision involving a freight train and a motorcoach.

An ECHO Transportation motorcoach was struck by a CSX freight train March 7, 2017, at a grade crossing in Biloxi, Mississippi. Four of the 49 motorcoach passengers were killed in the crash.  No one on the CSX train was injured.

The docket contains more than 3,300 pages of factual information including: investigative group reports, interview transcripts, photographs and other documents supporting the investigation.

The documents within the docket do not contain analysis, findings, recommendations or probable cause determinations.  Those conclusions will be provided at a board meeting in Washington, Aug. 7, 2018.  Details about that meeting are available at https://go.usa.gov/xUP9n.
