Update: 12/09/2022:  This meeting has been cancelled.

The National Transportation Safety Board will hold a virtual public board meeting Dec. 13 to discuss the findings of a new safety research report that examines the crash risk associated with different drugs — such as alcohol, cannabis, prescription, over-the-counter and other drugs — and their use among drivers.

The NTSB undertook this study because alcohol-impaired driving is involved in nearly one in three traffic fatalities, and the problem of driving while impaired by other drugs alone or combined together is growing. Preventing alcohol- and other drug-impaired driving is on the NTSB Most Wanted List of Transportation Safety Improvements.

During the meeting, the NTSB’s board will vote on the findings and recommendations as well as any changes to the draft final report.
