 NTSB Opens Docket on Casselton, N.D. Crude-by-Rail Accident

The National Transportation Safety Board today released opened the accident docket as part of the ongoing investigation into the Dec. 30, 2013 derailment, fire and explosions of a crude oil unit train outside Casselton, N.D.

The docket, which contains nearly 1,800 documents, will not contain analysis, only facts, including the operational factors group chairman’s factual report, documents, photographs, and interview summaries. Additional information will continue to be added to the docket and released as it becomes available. The factual report, analysis, conclusions, and probable cause statement will be issued at a later date.
